top five disney 'princesses': a picspam



A picspam of my top five favorite Disney heroines, which I tend to refer to as Disney princesses whether or not they are actually considered one. Warning: Enormous amount of fangirling ahead.



5. Esmeralda

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my least favorite Disney movies of all time. I absolutely hate. However, two good things did come out of it. Those are the song Hellfire, and this girl right here. I haven't seen the movie in years (like I said, I hate it), but everytime I see her picture I can't help but smile. Esmeralda is so kickass awesome that I can't help but love her. She made me want to be a gypsy. XD


4. Ariel

Oh, Ariel. ♥ This girl makes me grin. She's so whimsical and dreamy...she's the reason I actually like this movie since Eric is the worst love interest ever. She's just so cute, and she's brave too. Plus, what girl wouldn't want that gorgeous hair? The only thing I don't like about her, actually (and there will be more on this later, with the other girls) is how she basically ditches her friends and family for some random guy. Ugh. But her other qualities are lovely enough that I can overlook that little fact.


3. Jasmine

When I was a kid, it was all about Jasmine for me. She was, without a doubt, my number one Disney princess. First, she's pretty much the most gorgeous of all the females leads. Shallow, yes, but true. Second, and most importantly, she's smart and brave and headstrong and stubborn, all qualities that I admire. In fact, she still sends me into fangirling fits-- my love for her has't lessened at all in all these years. It's just that my love for the next two has grown.


2. Mulan

A kickass heroine from my favorite Disney movie of all time. Plus, she gets the coolest love interest. I love how this girl never gives up, even when facing death. I love how much value she puts on family, and how far she would go to protect them. I grew up being taught that family comes first, and it's lovely seeing someone who embodies that value. She's lovely and strong, and just plain all around amazing. ♥


1. Belle

Oh, Belle. ♥ Like many other people, this girl is the one I can relate to the most. We're both brunette bookworms who would die for a shot at a library like the Beast's. *shot* But, seriously. Again, like with Mulan, I love how she would do anything for her family, even sacrifice herself. I love how she's smart and pretty, and how she's not afraid to stand up to the Beast.

Thank you! ♥ And the cut text is a quote made by Walt Disney, I believe. I have no idea if it's supposed to refer to anyone in paticular or not.

Love this picspam! I count many of these heroines amongst my favorites in the Disney canon. :D

I definitely recommend giving Hunchback another shot. I went through a phase where I didn't really like it, but recently I "rediscovered" it, and it's now definitely one of my favorites. The art and the music are really to die for, plus as you pointed out here, Esmeralda is awesome.

I do agree about the art and music and, obviously, Esmeralda, but I don't think I'll like it very much these days either. The whole thing with Quasimodo and the gargoyles just annoys me. =S But thanks for mentioning it anyways!

Aww this is beautiful. Esmeralda makes me want to rewatch Hunchback, because I haven't seen it in years either. And "God Help the Outcasts" is currently one of my most played songs on my iPod. Oh and I totally wanted to go to the Beast's library too :)

mulan is always gonna be my favourite one though. she's just sooo awesome, strong, stubborn and all these qualities that make her so amazing, well, you know :)

Yes, I know! It was so hard to choose between her and Belle, but I finally chose Belle since I already refer to Mulan as my favorite Disney movie. Figured it was more fair that way~
